Fisher, the Engineer of Creative Identity, has received over 475 regional, national and international graphic design awards for his logo and corporate identity efforts. His work is featured in more than 75 publications on the design of logos, the business of graphic design, and small business marketing. Fisher often writes and speaks on various design and marketing topics. He is a member of the HOW Magazine Editorial Advisory Board and is also on the HOW Design Conference Advisory Council. His book, “The Savvy Designer's Guide to Success” was released by HOW Design Books in 2004.

In 2005 the designer created an “I DO!” graphic that was used to support same-sex marriage efforts in Multnomah County, OR; Benton County, OR; New Paltz, NY; San Francisco, CA, and Provincetown, MA. The graphic is now included in the book “The Design of Dissent” and the archives of the Oregon Historical Society and the Center for the Study of Political Graphics.

Since losing a job in 1985, due to his sexual orientation, Fisher has worked as on openly gay business professional – often designing projects for GLBT businesses, organizations and events around the U.S. He has actively participated in many community activities in the past 20 years, including serving as member of the founding Board of Directors for the Portland Area Business Association.

Jeff Fisher and his husband, law firm administrator Ed Cunningham, were married in Portland, OR on March 7, 2004 after 14 years as partners. The Oregon Supreme Court later invalidated their marriage.
