Successful Email Marketing - What Works

with the latest Gmail and Outlook Express email filters, email marketing
continues to thrive as a low cost means to reach past customers for repeat
business and new prospects. Email costs per contact range from 3 to 10
cents, as opposed to direct mail costs of $.24 to.39 per contact.
Email Marketing - What Works
* Use
Opt-in Lists - Rented lists are generally poor
performers.
* Target your E-mail - E-mail campaigns
are statistically proven to perform better if they provide more relevant
information based on interests and preferences of their
subscribers.
* Carefully Construct your 'From Line' -
According to Doubleclick.com, the most important factor in motivating
email recipients to open an email is the 'From Line.' Keep your 'From
Line' short, relevant, and consistent.
* Create a Subject
Line that Flows through Mail Filters - Mail filters can be one of your
biggest obstacles that affect your 'open rate.' The most effective
subject lines are short, display benefits to reader, and are properly
punctuated (with no unnecessary caps or exclamation marks). Another
important tactic is to include your company name in the subject for
branding and successful delivery purposes.
* Strategically
plan when to hit the Send Button The latest research from ClickZ
shows fewer emails are sent on Friday, than any other day (excluding
weekends). If your email is from business to customer, Friday is now
touted as the best day for optimal open and click through rates. The best
days to send your email campaign fluctuates based on the nature of your
business and time of year. One rule remains the same - Avoid Monday for
your email marketing as it continues to be the heaviest volume day of the
week.
* Use Sharp and Relevant Graphics to segment each
email section Using colorful and relevant graphics allows the reader
to easily scan to the sections that interest him or her. Keep your
graphics small to medium sized, to enable quick loading of your email.
Remember some users use 'text only' email and won't see the graphics.

Volvo
Gaywheels.com staffers recently spent
some quality time with a 2006 Volvo S40 T5. Vastly improved over the
previous S40, the design is in its second year and hasn’t lost its
uniqueness in the ultra-competitive entry-luxury category. Volvo, long
known as a safety innovator, finally has a product that can compete in the
swimsuit category. The question is, can she sing?
Like the
best pageant contestants across the land, the S40 is an all-around package
with substance to backup a curvaceous body. We were impressed at first
sight; beautiful lines and gorgeous accessories complement the stylish
interior – notably the very sleek remote-control style “ultra slim” center
console and wonderfully comfortable seats. The love affair continued with
the first turn of the key. Although not as melodious as some 6 cylinders,
the turbo-charged five cylinder had a distinctive sound; not glorious but
not offensive either. It marches to its own tune.

Tickets On Sale for Gay Games Opening/Closing
Ceremonies
From 15-22 July 2006, Chicago will play
host to the world and welcome thousands of athletes, spectators and
cultural participants into our homes, our hearts and our city for the
seventh quadrennial Gay Games Sports and Cultural
Festival.
The Games will feature 12,000 participants,
competition in 30 sports, world-class athletes and artists, band and
choral performances, nightly medal ceremonies, a week-long arts festival,
parties, and spectacular opening and closing ceremonies featuring
entertainment, pageantry, and the parade of participants from more than 70
countries.
Tickets to this summer’s hottest events in Chicago –
the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the 2006 Gay Games - will go on
sale online beginning at 10 am (CST) Saturday, 11 March 2006. The
limited-availability Premium Ticket Packages – advance tickets to both
ceremonies – will be available only at
Tickets.GayGamesChicago.org.
